Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services seeks experienced pipefitter personnel to oversee crew activities and ensure safe, timely piping installations and maintenance. Applicants must read isometric drawings, determine layout, size, and orientation of piping, and install/maintain piping systems with supports and related equipment.

Responsibilities include selecting materials, planning installation sequences, cutting, threading, bending, and securing pipes, testing for leaks, and assisting with lifts.

Qualifications

• Must read isometric drawings and derive piping layout and specs.
• Plan work and select proper tools for installation and maintenance.
• Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy and safety rules.
• Visualize objects in three dimensions from plans and drawings.
• Independent judgment on daily tasks and ability to delegate as needed.

Responsibilities

• Selects type and size of pipe and related materials per job specs.
• Inspects site for obstructions and plans installation sequence.
• Cuts, threads, and bends pipe using appropriate tools.
• Mounts hangers/brackets and assembles piping systems with joints.
• Installs and maintains refrigeration and air conditioning piping and equipment.
• Tests piping systems for leaks and observes gauges.
• Loads and transports materials and tools; assists in lifting and positioning pieces.
• Performs routine maintenance on tools and equipment.
