Job summary

Thompson Law LLP in San Antonio, TX seeks a Senior Pre-Litigation Attorney to lead our pre-litigation docket, guide treatment strategy, and steer settlements. This senior role focuses on valuation, demands, and avoiding courtroom exposure while coordinating with a litigation team when needed.

You will supervise support staff, mentor junior attorneys, and help expand our Texas footprint with strategic client advocacy and efficient case management.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice law in Texas with good standing
• 8+ years of legal experience with substantial personal injury
• Proven track record in valuing and settling cases at full value
• Ability to evaluate liability, coverage, and direct medical build-up
• Leadership experience managing support staff and docket

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy for liability, coverage, damages, and valuation from intake to settlement
• Gatekeep cases to decide go/no-go and special handling
• Direct treatment strategy with paralegals and providers
• Own the demand process: verify liability, coverage, and medical picture; set settlement ranges
• Direct settlement strategy and negotiations; know when to hand to litigation
• Protect clients' net by resolving liens and distributions
• Mentor and supervise junior attorneys and support staff
• Advise clients on treatment, progress, and settlement decisions
• Help shape pre-litigation strategy and Texas footprint growth
