Job summary

Thompson Law in San Antonio, TX seeks a Pre-Litigation Attorney to own a personal injury pre-litigation docket, guided by senior attorneys. You will work on liability, coverage, and damages theories, collaborating to move cases toward favorable settlements.

The role emphasizes handling medical evidence, building demand packages, and negotiating settlements while protecting clients’ net. Strong Texas license and PI experience are required.

Qualifications

• Texas license in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.
• 3–8 years of legal experience including at least 2 years in personal injury (plaintiff or defense).
• Hands-on experience evaluating liability and coverage, medical records, and damages.
• Strong organization and attention to detail to manage a robust docket.

Responsibilities

• Manage your pre-litigation docket and work toward settlements.
• Evaluate cases for liability, coverage, and damages; determine forward strategy.
• Guide treatment with paralegals and providers to support the medical build-up.
• Build and approve demand packages; pressure-test liability and set settlement ranges.
• Drive settlement negotiations with adjusters to maximize recoveries.
• Resolve liens with lien specialists to protect the client’s net.
• Lead and mentor assigned paralegals and assistants.
• Advise clients with clarity and compassion at critical moments.
• Grow as a personal injury lawyer with mentorship and increasing responsibility.
