Job summary

Function of Beauty is seeking a Senior Physical Product Development Manager to own the execution of our physical product development pipeline—from timelines, formulas, packaging, and artwork to merchandising, manufacturing readiness, and launch.

You'll lead multiple haircare development and commercialization programs, partnering cross-functionally with R&D, Creative, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Regulatory, Marketing, Sales, and external partners.

Qualifications

• 5-6+ years in physical consumer product development or commercialization.
• Experience taking products from concept through launch with packaging/artwork.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration across R&D, Creative, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Regulatory, Marketing, Sales.
• Experience with external suppliers and contract manufacturers.
• Ability to identify timeline risks and manage dependencies.
• Excellent communication and project management discipline.
• Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., ClickUp, Smartsheet, Monday.com, Asana).

Responsibilities

• Own integrated product development timelines from concept to launch.
• Run weekly status meetings and Stage Gate readiness.
• Coordinate formula development, testing, scale-up, and stability.
• Drive packaging development and supplier coordination.
• Oversee artwork execution and regulatory inputs.
• Manage retail merchandising development and production readiness.
• Assess manufacturing feasibility and CapEx needs.
• Coordinate cross-functional launch activities.
• Identify risks, escalate, and drive mitigations.
• Improve systems, templates, and SOPs for development timelines.
