Job summary

Maximus is seeking a Physical Domain Lead to provide senior-level oversight, coordination, and technical leadership for the Physical Domain within the Preservation of the Force and Family (POTFF) program.

This role supports Special Operations Forces (SOF) mission readiness, operational availability, resilience, and career longevity through integrated human performance services spanning sports medicine, strength and conditioning, injury mitigation, rehabilitation, and performance nutrition.

Qualifications

• Requires 7–10 years of relevant professional experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience considered in lieu of degree.
• Bachelor’s degree in athletic training, physical therapy, exercise science, kinesiology, nutrition, human performance, or a related field.
• Professional certifications or licensure such as ATC, PT, CSCS, RD/RDN are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope, including planning activities and artifacts.
• Oversee large multi-project programs, including planning, staffing, and execution.
• Create and update project work plans to meet changing needs.
• Identify resources and assign responsibilities across teams.
• Maintain master and resource plans with required documents.
• Baseline projects and capture LeveIs of Effort (LoE) forecasting.
• Review deliverables before submission to management and customers.
• Apply PMI methodology and enforce project standards across all projects.
• Prepare for engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures.
• Minimize risk exposure on projects.
• Communicate project information to management, stakeholders, and customers.
• Escalate issues with consideration of impact on the project.
• Ensure project documents are complete and stored properly.
• Track lessons learned and apply to future projects.
• Close out all projects properly.
• Supervise staff with direction and performance feedback.
• Serve as escalation point for workload prioritization.
