Job summary

Analog Devices, Inc. is seeking a Senior Physical Design Engineer to lead methodology improvements across complex chip and SoC programs. This role focuses on scalable, reusable flow enhancements and duty of care to ensure design closure, working with CAD, STA, DFT, and RTL teams.

You will drive guardrails, automate flows, and provide guidance to engineers on best practices, while analyzing QoR to implement durable improvements for multiple projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering; 8+ years related experience.
• Master’s or PhD preferred with 5+ years related experience.
• Experience with advanced-node or complex SoC environments is desirable.
• Experience with Tcl or Python scripting and automation.
• Experience with Synopsys or Cadence physical design tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead improvements to physical design methodology and flows.
• Develop, refine, and maintain physical design flows, scripts, and automation.
• Define guardrails, best practices, and repeatable flow processes.
• Analyze QoR (power, performance, area, timing, congestion) and drive improvements.
• Collaborate across physical design, CAD, STA, DFT, RTL/design teams to enable adoption.
• Investigate recurrent implementation issues and provide robust corrective actions.
• Provide technical guidance on methodology usage and flow adoption.
• Provide targeted implementation support to validate changes.
