Job summary

Analog Devices, Inc. in Wilmington, MA, is seeking a Design Engineer to lead methodology improvements for physical design across complex chip and SoC programs.

You will focus on scalable, reusable flows and repeatable best practices, partnering with PD, CAD, STA, DFT, RTL, and project teams. A strong physical design background is required, with emphasis on methodology leadership and flow enablement rather than day-to-day block ownership.

Qualifications

• Strong track record in developing and improving physical design flows.
• Solid foundation in floor planning, placement, routing, timing closure.
• Experience with industry-standard PD tools and signoff.
• Experience with Tcl or Python scripting.
• Ability to analyze recurring issues and implement durable improvements.
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication.

Responsibilities

• Drive improvements to physical design methodology with flow standardization and reuse.
• Own development, refinement, and maintenance of physical design flows and automation.
• Define and document physical design guardrails, methodologies, and flow practices.
• Analyze QoR: power, performance, area, timing, congestion to drive improvements.
• Partner with PD, CAD, STA, DFT, RTL and project teams to enable adoption.
• Investigate root causes of convergence issues and implement corrective actions.
• Provide guidance on methodology usage and debugging strategies.
• Provide targeted implementation support to validate changes on projects.
