Job summary

Quest Diagnostics Incorporated in Saint Paul, MN, is seeking a Sr. Phlebotomy Technician to support the supervisor in daily department operations.

This role is responsible for accurately performing and processing Point of Care Testing (POC), venous and capillary blood collection from adults, infants, and children, and all related functions. Schedule is Monday to Friday with hours varying between 6:30 AM and 8:30 PM, with rotational weekends and 8/10 hour shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 3 years of progressive POC and phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in some states.

Responsibilities

• Prepares staff schedule to provide adequate coverage and updates changes daily.
• Ensures equitable distribution of workload.
• Troubleshoots and resolves issues with technicians and clinic staff as needed.
• Monitors to ensure work is performed efficiently.
• Develops onboarding program for new employees.
• Performs phlebotomy and POC testing as needed.
• Maintains carts/trays with necessary supplies and orders supplies timely.
• Obtains specimens and performs POC tests as required.
• Communicates with patients and caregivers at appropriate developmental levels.
