Job summary

Quest Diagnostics in Edina, MN is seeking a Sr. Phlebotomy Technician. The role involves venous and capillary blood collection from adults, infants, and children, plus processing Point of Care Testing (POC). Hours vary, with weekday schedules and rotational weekends; pay ranges from $27.00 to $32.00 per hour.

The position also supports supervision, staffing, and ensuring efficient lab operations, with eligibility for annual performance bonus compensation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3 years of progressive, accomplished experience in POC and phlebotomy preferred.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred. Required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

Responsibilities

• Prepares staff schedule to provide adequate coverage and updates changes daily.
• Ensures equitable distribution of workload.
• Troubleshoots and resolves issues with technicians, clinic staff etc. as needed in conjunction with the Supervisor.
• Monitors to ensure work is being performed efficiently.
• Establishes in conjunction with the Supervisor an onboarding program for new employees.
• Performs phlebotomy and POC testing as needed.
• Maintains drawing and POC testing carts/trays with necessary supplies.
• Maintains all necessary supplies and places orders in a timely fashion.
• Distributes specimens and requisitions to units as needed.
• Obtains specimens, requisitions, draws blood or performs POC tests as needed.
• Adheres to patient-centered care considering age, culture, language, etc.
• Adheres to the standards identified in the clinic’s Organizational Competencies.
