Brown University Health is seeking a Phlebotomy Program Coordinator to support the Phlebotomy Supervisor and Pathology Manager by scheduling, training and directing phlebotomists and related staff, and by helping develop and implement policies and procedures.

The role includes maintaining program records, supervising clerical staff, and participating in hiring and performance reviews, while ensuring adherence to established safety and quality standards.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy certificate through NACL S and/or completion of a Phlebotomy certificate program including 100 successful venipunctures.
• In lieu of internship, 6 months phlebotomy experience may be considered.
• In lieu of phlebotomy certification, 5+ years direct phlebotomy experience may be considered.
• Minimum 5 years of phlebotomy experience required.
• Ability to perform venipuncture techniques and capillary puncture on adults, children and infants.
• Interpersonal skills to obtain and provide information to patients and explain procedures effectively.
• Knowledge of aging, development, and cultural considerations in care.
• Clerical skills to prepare and maintain records.

Aufgaben

• Prepare staffing schedules for Phlebotomists for supervisor's approval.
• Prepare daily assignments for Phlebotomists and clerical staff.
• Assist with phlebotomy on patients as needed.
• Train new Phlebotomists and Med Tech students in venipuncture and finger stick techniques.
• Participate in interviewing and selection of Phlebotomists.
• Contribute to policy and procedure development for phlebotomy.
• Maintain payroll, workload and activity records and perform clerical tasks.
