Job summary

Grady Health System in Georgia seeks a skilled Phlebotomist to join our dynamic laboratory team. You will perform venipuncture, process specimens, and ensure accurate data entry into the LIS, supporting timely testing and reporting for patient care.

As part of a high-quality, patient-centered environment, you may act as a Senior Phlebotomist, guiding peers and upholding CLSI guidelines, universal precautions, and safety standards across the department.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (required).
• Certified Phlebotomy Technician required by: NHA – National Healthcareer Association or NPCE - National Phlebotomy Certificate Examination or NCCT - National Center for Competency Testing or AMT - American Medical Technologists or ASCP - American Society for Clinical Pathology
• At least one year of hospital based phlebotomy experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and microcollection with precision and compassion.
• Ensure timely, high-quality specimen collection, processing, and distribution.
• Accurately enter and maintain patient and specimen data in the LIS.
• Perform Point-of-Care (POC) testing in accordance with departmental guidelines.
• Serve as a Senior Phlebotomist when needed, providing guidance and support to peers.
