Job summary

Walgreens in Illinois is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist the Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacist with dispensing prescriptions and data entry. You will help maintain inventory, process third party claims, and support a compliant, efficient pharmacy operation while delivering friendly customer service.

Under supervision, you will ensure accuracy, participate in clinical services as needed, and contribute to a positive patient experience in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• PTCB or ExCPT certification required (except in Puerto Rico).
• One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in retail or hospital setting.
• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
• Willingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist in dispensing prescriptions under supervision of pharmacist.
• Enter patient and drug information accurately into pharmacy systems.
• Maintain inventory handling, ordering, and storage of pharmaceuticals.
• Process manual claims for third party prescription services.
• Support Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacist to improve service and KPIs.
• Assist with customer service and guidance to patients and providers.
