Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists in dispensing medications, maintaining patient records, and ensuring accurate inventory and workflow within the store pharmacy.

You will assist in clinical services, communicate with healthcare providers, and help improve customer experience while adhering to policy and quality standards. Flexible schedules, including evenings and weekends, are required.

Qualifications

• PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
• One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
• Willingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire (except in Community Specialty Pharmacy, Health System Pharmacy locations, or in locations where this role is covered under a collective bargaining agreement)

Responsibilities

• Assist in the practice of pharmacy under supervision of the pharmacist.
• Enter patient and drug information in pharmacy systems; fill prescriptions and verify accuracy.
• Assist with scheduling, workflow, and inventory management of pharmaceuticals.
• Process manual claims for third party prescription services and perform clerical duties as assigned.
• Support pharmacists in clinical services and coordination with healthcare providers.
• Lead pharmacy department inventory activities and ensure asset protection practices.
• Develop relationships with local medical community and support Walgreens clinics and outreach.
• Assist with Pickup program and maintain a stocked, clean Pharmacy Department.
• Coach technicians and cashiers to drive efficiency and ensure policy compliance.
