Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support our Ambulatory Infusion and outpatient pharmacy activities at our Cincinnati location. You will enter prescriptions, verify patient data, and liaise with patients and providers to ensure smooth operations.

Strong communication, multitasking, and compliance with HIPAA are essential. Required tasks include handling refills, confirming reimbursement, and coordinating delivery details.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Proficiency with Windows PC applications and learning new systems.
• Ability to stand, walk, and lift 30 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Enter prescriptions from intake to order completion and verify member/patient data.
• Contact patients, pharmacists, and doctors as a liaison for the pharmacy team.
• Communicate clearly via phone and electronic methods to patients, physicians, and healthcare providers.
• Complete refill assessments, collect payment details, set up delivery, and coordinate treatment.
• Access and retrieve prescriptions and medical/lab information from computer systems.
• Verify reimbursement eligibility and resolve rejected claims.
• Process prescription refills and interpret supply needs for various therapies.
• Resolve customer issues with accurate information and friendly service.
• Multitask and coordinate with multiple partners to ensure patient-centric care.
• Follow State and Federal regulations, HIPAA, and confidentiality policies.

Location: 7167 E. Kemper Rd, Cincinnati, OH

Hours: Monday - Friday - 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM

Primary Responsibilities:

• Enter prescriptions from intake to order completion and verify member/patient data
• Contact patients, pharmacists, and doctor's offices as a liaison for the pharmacy team
• Communicate clearly and concisely via phone and electronic methods to patients, physicians, and other healthcare providers
• Contact patients to complete refill assessments, request payment information, establish delivery details, and set up treatment in the Ambulatory Infusion Suite and/or other outpatient facilities
• Access, input, and retrieve prescriptions and medical/lab information from computer system
• Verify whether medication is reimbursable, and resolve rejected claims
• Process prescription refills and interpret supply needs as related to various therapies
• Resolve customer issues, ensuring accurate information is provided
• Able to multitask and channel communication from various business partners, driving patient centric quality care
• Follow all State and Federal regulations and Pharmacy Policies and Procedures, adhering to HIPAA and confidentiality code of ethics

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED
• Intermediate level of proficiency with Windows PC applications including the ability to navigate and learn new and complex computer system applications
• Ability to stand, walk, and lift 30 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:

• National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB)
• Active and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license in the state of Ohio
• Previous Home Infusion experience
• Pharmacy/prescription data entry experience

The hourly pay for this role will range from $18 - $32 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
