UCSF is seeking a pharmacist for the California Poison Control System (CPCS) located in San Francisco. The role provides assessment, information, management advice, in-depth consultation, and follow-up for emergency toxicology calls and poisoning cases.

Respond to CPCS calls across California, collaborate with medical consultants, and engage in scholarly activities such as research and publications. The position requires flexibility to cover nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Pharm.D. Degree required.
• CA Licensed Pharmacist in good standing or by start date; 2 years clinical pharmacy experience or Poison Control Center experience.
• Excellent drug information skills and knowledge of pharmacology, toxicology, physical chemistry and pathophysiology.
• Proficiency with computerized databases, texts, and files; ability to collaborate with back-up medical consultants.
• Strong written and verbal English communication; adaptable to callers from children to healthcare professionals.
• Willingness to work an average of 80 hours over a 2-week period including days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsabilités

• Provide assessment, information, management advice, in-depth consultation, and follow-up for emergency toxicology and poisoning calls.
• Respond to CPCS calls from multiple UC-affiliated sites and manage information flow with translators.
• Participate in scholarly activities including research, publications, and professional organizations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
