Job summary

Texas Oncology in Round Rock, TX is seeking a PET/CT Technologist to join our imaging team. This role requires performing PET imaging procedures under supervision, including radiopharmaceutical handling, patient positioning, and data archiving, with opportunities for Level 1, 2, or Sr based on experience.

The ideal candidate has a Nuclear Medicine/ Radiologic Technology background with PET-CT certification and 3–5 years of nuclear medicine experience.

Qualifications

  • Associates or Bachelors degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or Radiologic Technology with PET-CT certification.
  • CNMT and/or ARRT(N) certification and state licensure where applicable.
  • Minimum three to five years experience in nuclear medicine and/or previous PET experience preferred.
  • General knowledge of patient scheduling and billing systems.

Responsibilities

  • Performs diagnostic PET imaging procedures including injection of radiopharmaceuticals, protocol setup, patient positioning, reconstruction and archiving.
  • Assists in procedure scheduling and related front office functions to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Ensures accuracy of patient demographics, report distribution and patient files.
  • Assists with collection of clinical data for patient follow-up and development of teaching and educational information.
  • Provides protection for patient and self and conducts daily quality control measures for scanner performance.
  • Reports malfunctions and/or need for service to the proper facility.
  • Responsible for patient data and films including printing, archiving, transfers and logging.
  • Understands IV contrast contraindications and actions for reactions.
  • Ordering of necessary office, medical, printing and archiving media.
