Job summary

Stantec is seeking an experienced environmental permitting professional to join our Gulf region team in a flexible location. The role focuses on leading and managing complex oil & gas midstream permitting projects, including FERC-regulated pipelines and energy transition initiatives.

You will coordinate permit applications with agencies, develop technical documents for regulatory submissions, and support business development with clients across the US.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or higher in Environmental Science or related field.
  • Minimum of 7+ years work experience in a similar position.
  • Minimum of 5 years direct experience preparing, managing and authoring FERC permit applications where required by federal, state or local environmental regulatory agencies.
  • Direct experience preparing and managing permit applications and agency coordination related to Threatened and Endangered Species, Sections 404/10, CZMA, and/or Section 106 Cultural Resources.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and project management for oil & gas midstream permitting projects (FERC-regulated natural gas or liquids pipeline projects) and energy transition projects throughout the US.
  • Manage permit applications and agency coordination related to Threatened and Endangered Species, Sections 404/10, CZMA, and Section 106 Cultural Resources.
  • Develop and maintain positive client relationships, including seeking opportunities for new business and supporting proposal development.
  • Create technical documents and provide review of technical documents that support regulatory submissions.
  • Support and ensure implementation of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Policies, Procedures, Standards and Guidelines in the execution of all work and coordinate with HSE professionals during the execution of all phases of project planning and implementation.
  • Communicate and collaborate with other Environmental and Regulatory Specialists to ensure consistency in project execution.
  • This position works as part of a larger midstream & energy permitting team and there will be opportunities to support multiple Stantec projects and offices nationwide.
