The City of Mountain View is seeking a Senior Permit Technician to join our Permit Center. You will perform complex plan checks, review development applications for compliance with codes and city policies, and manage permit workflows from submission to construction completion.

We’re looking for a highly motivated, customer service-oriented professional to fill a Senior Permit Technician position. The ideal candidate brings outstanding customer service skills and enjoys working on development permits. In this role, you will join a fast-paced, dynamic team environment. Using strong communication skills, you will thrive on a high volume of daily interactions with internal and external customers via email, phone, virtually, or at the Permit Center public counter. The Senior Permit Technician role has increasing responsibilities working on larger multifamily, commercial or mixed-use development projects, coordinating preconstruction meetings with City staff and contractors, and may assist in training and mentoring Permit Technicians. This position receives direct supervision from the Permit Center Coordinator and may exercise technical supervision over other permit staff. The annual salary range for a Senior Permit Technician is $106,354 - $129,284; with 5-step scale. Pay beyond the control point may be awarded for exceptional experience and qualifications upon hire and/or for meritorious performance while serving.
