Job summary

Motion Recruitment is seeking a Performance & Load Testing QA Engineer for a leading global financial services organization in New York. You will design and execute load tests across APIs and event-driven architectures to ensure scalability and reliability during a major platform integration in the dining/ reservation tech space.

The role is hands-on and requires senior-level experience with load-testing tools and HTTP/API traffic, including WebSocket patterns.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on load-testing experience with tools.
• Strong experience testing HTTP traffic, APIs, and event-driven/WebSocket systems.
• Ability to analyze latency percentiles, throughput, and error rates.
• Experience tracing bottlenecks across application and infrastructure layers.
• Independent, hands-on contributor with strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute load-testing and performance-testing scenarios across APIs and event-driven components.
• Use tools such as k6, JMeter, Gatling, or Locust to simulate high-volume traffic.
• Test HTTP/API endpoints and event-driven/WebSocket communication.
• Analyze latency percentiles, throughput, error rates, and other performance indicators.
• Identify system capacity limits and trace bottlenecks across layers.
• Collaborate with engineers to optimize performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Support performance validation during the platform integration.
