Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute performance and load-testing scenarios across HTTP/API endpoints and event-driven/WebSocket traffic.
• Build and execute load, stress, spike, endurance, and scalability tests.
• Analyze performance metrics, including response times, latency percentiles (P50, P90, P95, P99), error rates, and throughput.
• Identify performance bottlenecks across application, API, database, and infrastructure layers.
• Develop realistic test scenarios that simulate production-like user behavior and traffic patterns.
• Configure and execute distributed load tests to evaluate application performance under high-volume traffic.
• Monitor application performance and system health during test execution.
• Use observability tools to analyze logs, metrics, traces, and resource utilization.
• Collaborate with developers, architects, and infrastructure teams to troubleshoot performance issues and recommend optimizations.
• Prepare detailed performance test reports, findings, and recommendations.

Role: Senior QA Engineer – Performance & Load Testing

Location: NYC, NY (Hybrid)-W2 Contract

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior QA Engineer specializing in Performance and Load Testing to design, develop, execute, and analyze performance tests across APIs, HTTP services, and event-driven/WebSocket-based applications.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with performance testing tools such as Locust and Gatling, distributed load generation, performance analysis, and modern observability platforms. The candidate should be capable of identifying performance bottlenecks, analyzing system behavior under different load conditions, and collaborating with development and infrastructure teams to improve application performance and scalability.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute performance and load-testing scenarios across HTTP/API endpoints and event-driven/WebSocket traffic.

• Strong understanding of HTTP protocols, REST APIs, and WebSocket communication.
• Experience designing and executing performance test scenarios for distributed systems.
• Knowledge of load generation, concurrency, throughput, latency, and response-time analysis.Experience analyzing performance metrics, including P95/P99 latency and error rates.
• Strong troubleshooting and bottleneck identification skills.
