Job summary

Alo Yoga is seeking a Software Engineer, Performance Engineering to join our engineering team in Beverly Hills. This hands-on role focuses on improving speed, scalability, and reliability of our web and mobile platforms, partnering with digital, application, platform, and data teams.

You will design and execute performance tests, build profiling and telemetry, embed best practices in CI/CD, and guide multiple teams toward measurable performance improvements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software engineering with focus on performance optimization, scalability, or observability.
• Knowledge of distributed systems concepts (caching, concurrency, queuing, resource contention).
• 4+ years hands-on with performance testing tools (k6, Gatling, JMeter, Locust) and familiarity with Core Web Vitals and frontend performance monitoring.
• Experience with metrics, logging, and tracing systems.
• Strong debugging, profiling, and systems-level problem-solving.
• Experience collaborating with frontend and backend teams and supporting high-scale platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and scale performance tests for web, mobile, and backend systems.
• Use performance tools like k6, Gatling, JMeter, Locust to build scalable test suites.
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks across frontend, APIs, databases, and infrastructure.
• Improve latency, throughput, and resource utilization in backend and infrastructure.
• Integrate performance testing into CI/CD and monitor performance continuously.
• Build profiling, tracing, and telemetry solutions with observability tools.
• Collaborate with engineers to provide guidance and hands-on support.
• Lead adoption of performance engineering best practices across teams.
• Design experiments and analyze data to provide actionable recommendations.
