Job summary

Schwab Technology Services seeks a Senior Performance Engineer to ensure scalability, resiliency, and reliability of Schwab’s technology platforms. You will collaborate with product, architecture, development, infrastructure, and operations teams to identify performance risks, evaluate system behavior, and drive data-informed decisions.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
10+ years of technology experience with 7+ years in performance engineering or related disciplines.
5+ years with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling, k6, NeoLoad, WebLOAD).
3+ years integrating automated performance validation into CI/CD environments.
Experience designing performance strategies, workload models, scalability assessments, and non-functional testing approaches.
Experience with resiliency testing, chaos engineering, failover validation, or fault-injection practices.
Strong knowledge of observability/monitoring platforms (Splunk, Grafana, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry).
Proficiency in programming/scripting languages (Java, Python, JavaScript, Groovy, Shell).
Experience in Agile/DevOps/product delivery environments.
Strong communication, stakeholder management, mentoring, and executive reporting skills.
