Job summary

Dice seeks a Senior Performance Test Engineer to lead end-to-end performance testing for distributed and microservices-based apps. You will design and execute Load/Stress/Soak tests, tune JVMs, analyze bottlenecks, and implement dashboards to improve user experience.

Requires 12+ years in performance engineering, strong experience with AppDynamics, Dynatrace, Datadog, AWS/Azure, and tools like JMeter, K6, Gatling. Hybrid/work options available.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of performance testing/engineering experience.
• Strong expertise in APM & RUM (AppDynamics, New Relic, Datadog).
• Hands-on AWS & Azure experience with ECS, EKS, Lambda, DynamoDB, CloudWatch, API Gateway, ALB.
• Strong SQL/NoSQL database performance tuning experience.
• Distributed caching and data-access optimization.
• Core Web Vitals, browser performance, web rendering and CDN optimization.
• Frontend performance analysis using Lighthouse and Chrome DevTools.
• Performance automation with JMeter, K6 and Gatling.
• Observability and dashboarding with AppDynamics, Quantum Metric, ELK and Grafana.
• Experience with cloud-native, distributed and microservices-based apps.

Responsibilities

• Conduct end-to-end performance analysis across applications, databases, infrastructure, and cloud environments.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks using AppDynamics, Dynatrace, Datadog, JFR, and YourKit.
• Perform JVM tuning, thread analysis, database query optimization, caching, and microservices performance optimization.
• Design and execute Load, Stress, Soak, Endurance, and Scalability testing.
• Develop performance test scripts using JMeter, K6, and Gatling.
• Analyze performance metrics and provide actionable recommendations for scalability and reliability.
• Build dashboards and observability solutions using AppDynamics, Quantum Metric, ELK, and Grafana.
