Job summary

Yum! Brands is seeking a performance engineering specialist to lead performance test design and execution.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Quality Engineering, Product, and SRE to identify risks and drive improvements across microservices-based architectures using k6 and Datadog. You will develop tests, analyze results, and refine frameworks, while mentoring POD teams and building monitoring dashboards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS/CIS/engineering.
• 5+ years in performance engineering.
• 3+ years with k6 and Datadog or similar platforms.
• Advanced coding in JavaScript/TypeScript.
• 3+ years with microservices (REST/GraphQL).
• Extensive AWS and Kubernetes experience.
• Experience with profile/baseline, load, stress, soak and spike testing.
• Strong technical communication and documentation skills.

Requirements

• Bachelor's in CS, CIS, engineering, or equivalent experience
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in performance engineering
• 3+ years of experience with k6 and Datadog or similar platforms
• Advanced coding skills in JavaScript or TypeScript
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with microservices architectures (RESTful and GraphQL APIs)
• Extensive experience with AWS cloud services and Kubernetes
• Proven ability to perform profile/baseline, load, stress, soak, and spike testing
• Strong technical communication and documentation skills
