Job summary

NinjaOne is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Performance Engineering, to drive performance standards and optimizations across our cloud-native platform. You will translate usage patterns into actionable insights, fix bottlenecks in code, queries, and architecture, and build reusable tooling with the team.

You’ll work across scalable systems, databases, and services in a hands-on role, leveraging k6, Grafana, InfluxDB, and CI/CD pipelines to deliver data-driven improvements.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience with production code.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Strong understanding of system design, architecture, and data flow across components.
• Deep experience with performance optimization, query optimization, and debugging.
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL a plus) and distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Investigate bottlenecks and drive optimizations across code, DB, and architecture.
• Design, build, and maintain performance testing and data generation frameworks.
• Define and evolve standards for performance optimization and scalability.
• Develop and maintain technical docs, architectural decision records, and performance standards.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ship fixes and improvements.
