Job summary

Boston Dynamics, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer on the Stretch Perception and Machine Learning team to build, maintain, and improve perception systems on our production robot fleet.

You will work with experienced engineers and real field data to solve real-world problems in warehouse environments. The role emphasizes strong C++ and Python development, collaboration with PerML and adjacent teams, and delivering robust, tested software for deployed systems with a focus on reliability and

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Robotics or a related field.
• 1-3+ years of industry experience, or substantial internship, co-op, research, or project experience.
• Strong software development skills, including C++ and Python, with knowledge of best practices.
• Ability to explain technical results and trade-offs clearly to teammates, in writing and in person.
• Curiosity and a hands-on approach to debugging problems on real hardware and data.

Responsibilities

• Apply robotics and computer vision techniques to solve real problems on Stretch.
• Harden existing perception approaches to make them more robust in varied warehouse conditions.
• Evaluate performance through robot testing and data analysis, and turn findings into improvements.
• Write efficient, testable, maintainable C++ (and Python for tooling and analysis) code.
• Collaborate with teammates on PerML and with adjacent teams such as controls, manipulation, and Platform.
