Job summary

Boston Dynamics seeks a Senior Staff Perception Engineer to lead perception systems for the Stretch platform within the PerML team. You will own perception pipelines and drive architecture, development, and maintainability, providing technical leadership beyond the team.

You will mentor engineers, partner with controls, software, and hardware teams, and champion rigorous testing and real-time system design to deliver robust warehouse manipulation capabilities.

Qualifications

10+ years of experience building perception systems and shipping on-robot software.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Robotics or related field.
Deep expertise in point cloud processing, tracking, state estimation, SLAM and sensor calibration.

Responsibilities

Set technical direction: define perception systems architecture achieving performance and reliability goals.
Cross-functional collaboration with controls, manipulation, software, hardware and product teams.
Operational excellence: champion testing, code reviews, performance analysis, real-time design.
Mentor junior engineers within the team.
