Job summary

Boston Dynamics is seeking a Perception Engineer for the Stretch PerML team to build, maintain, and improve perception systems on our production robot fleet. You will work with experienced engineers and learn from real field data to solve robotics and computer vision challenges.

The role emphasizes robust perception in warehouse environments, C++ and Python proficiency, and collaboration with controls, manipulation, and Platform teams.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Robotics or a related field.
• 1+ years of industry experience or substantial internship, co-op, research, or project experience.
• Strong software development skills, including C++ and Python, with knowledge of best practices.
• Ability to explain technical results and trade-offs clearly to teammates, in writing and in person.
• Curiosity and a hands-on approach to debugging problems on real hardware and data.

Responsibilities

• Apply robotics and computer vision techniques to solve real problems on Stretch.
• Harden existing perception approaches to be more robust in varied warehouse conditions.
• Evaluate performance through robot testing and data analysis, and turn findings into improvements.

Job description

We are seeking a Perception Engineer to join our Stretch PerML (Perception and Machine Learning) team to work on a robot that is already deployed with customers around the word. In this role, you will help build, maintain, and improve the perception systems on the production robot fleet. However, we are not able to sponsor visas for this position.The base pay range for this position is between $115,000 to $135,000 annually. Base pay will depend on multiple individualized factors including, but not limited to internal equity, job related knowledge, skills and experience. This range represents a good faith estimate of compensation at the time of posting.
