Job summary

Caterpillar Financial Services Corporation in Irving, TX is seeking a Senior Perception Engineer to develop autonomous and operator-assisted driving systems. You will design, implement, and test algorithms for sensor fusion, object detection, tracking and classification, and integrate solutions into our software and hardware platform.

Qualifications

• Experience developing perception systems for autonomous machines with lidar, radar, and camera sensors.
• Strong background in computer vision, machine learning, deep learning, sensor fusion, object detection, tracking, and classification algorithms.
• Experience with production-quality software in C++ and Python.
• Experience with ROS/ROS2, OpenCV, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and modern development tools including Git, CMake, Docker, and GoogleTest.

Responsibilities

• Solve challenging perception problems for mobile off-road machines.
• Develop and optimize perception software and algorithms to meet customer and product needs.
• Document architecture specifications, software design, verification plans, test cases, and procedures.
• Collaborate with teams to integrate solutions into our software stack and hardware platform.
• Support verification and validation activities for autonomous machine systems.
