Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Senior Perception Engineer to develop perception systems for autonomous and operator-assisted heavy equipment. You will design, implement, and test sensor fusion, object detection, tracking, and classification algorithms.

Role requires strong C++ and Python skills, experience with computer vision/ML, and collaboration across engineering teams. Office-based in Irving, TX with travel up to 10% and relocation support available.

Qualifications

• Experience developing perception systems for autonomous or operator-assisted machines.
• Production-quality software development in C++ and Python.
• Strong background in computer vision and ML for perception tasks.
• Experience with ROS/AIS or robotics software stacks is a plus.
