Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Senior Autonomy Engineer in Irving, TX to develop and productionize localization algorithms for autonomous and semiautonomous systems.

You will estimate position/altitude relative to terrain features using perception-based, inertial, and GNSS inputs, and write robust production code. You will collaborate with teammates to prototype, test, and bring solutions to production, participating in design, documentation, coding, product quality, and validation to solve

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/Master’s/PhD in Robotics, Electrical or Computer Engineering or CS.
• Deep technical domain experience in robotics/autonomy.
• Experience designing production-quality software for robotics or real-time systems.

Responsibilities

• Research and design localization algorithms and software.
• Develop production-quality C++ software with documentation and validation.
• Contribute to localization architecture requirements and design.
• Support functional safety software design and validation.
