Job summary

Telecare Corporation seeks a Peer Recovery Coach II to engage members in meaningful recovery planning and to coach fellow peer support professionals. The role collaborates with clinical supervision to guide services and may lead educational supervision groups on peer support practices.

The position emphasizes Telecare’s Recovery Culture, de‑escalation in crises, and supporting least restrictive environments for individuals with behavioral health challenges.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Peer Certification must be obtained within 120 days of hire.
• Two (2) years or part-time equivalent of experience supporting individuals with behavioral health challenges.
• Experience as a beneficiary of the public Behavioral Health system of care is preferred.
• Must be CPR, First Aid, and CPI certified and maintained.
• Post-offer physical, TB testing, background checks, and license verification required.
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance with the name listed as driver.
• Willingness to use personal vehicle to drive clients to appointments and groups.

Responsibilities

• Engage, inspire and facilitate conversations to help members meet recovery goals.
• Coach and supervise other Peer Support professionals in delivering peer services.
• Provide peer services supervision with the clinical supervisor.
• Deliver educational supervision groups on peer support roles.
• Contribute to Telecare’s Recovery Culture and RCCS integration.
• Respond to critical situations with de‑escalation skills to support least restrictive care.

Education

Peer Certification (CalMHSA Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification)
