Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Process Engineering Technician to lead design, development, and readiness of manufacturing equipment for PCB assembly, including SMT and automated assembly. You will drive continuous improvement, support process validation, and mentor staff in a fast-paced, highly technical environment.

The role emphasizes expert troubleshooting, SOP ownership, and collaboration across engineering, production, and quality teams to meet customer specifications and regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in process engineering within electronics manufacturing and PCBA environments.
• Strong troubleshooting skills on manufacturing equipment and production processes.
• Expert knowledge of the PCBA process including SMT, auto insertion, solder flow, and automated/ manual assembly.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and engineering instructions for assembling electronics units.
• Proficiency with MES and lean manufacturing principles in production settings.
• Experience with AOI and X-ray inspection technologies in PCBA production.
• Experience with equipment programming related to SMT, inspection, and assembly processes.
• Ability to author and maintain SOPs and technical documentation.
• Strong data-driven mindset for process optimization and performance enhancement.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and readiness of manufacturing equipment for PCBA processes.
• Provide expert-level technical support and drive continuous improvement in electronics manufacturing.
• Lead complex technical issue resolution and apply advanced troubleshooting.
• Create and maintain SOPs, review technical documents for compliance with industry standards.
• Lead cross-functional teams in process improvement and root cause analysis.
• Manage acquisition of NRE items like stencils, fixtures, and test supplies.
• Plan and execute process validation studies to ensure robust production
• Lead integration of new process technologies into production to meet quality and throughput goals.
• Mentor technicians and engineers to build skills and knowledge.
