Job summary

Rocket EMS is seeking a Process Engineer to develop, optimize, and sustain PCBA production processes on the floor. You will work on SMT, through-hole, soldering, cleaning, coating, and mechanical assembly with operators and technicians to resolve issues and improve methods.

You will partner with Manufacturing Engineering and Quality to validate changes and ensure reliable board flow through production, from pilot to full-rate manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Strong practical troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
• Ability to interpret assembly drawings, BOMs, schematics, and equipment documentation.
• Ability to establish process limits, validate changes, and sustain repeatable results.
• Experience with SPC, DOE, PFMEA, and Lean manufacturing.
• Familiarity with process measurement tools and thermal profiling.
• Proficient communication and operator training skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary engineering resource for daily production process issues and resolve assembly problems.
• Develop, qualify, and sustain processes for solder paste printing, component placement, reflow, through-hole, soldering, cleaning, coating, and mechanical assembly.
• Establish, document, and maintain equipment programs, soldering profiles, cleaning parameters, and coating settings.
• Troubleshoot defects such as solder bridging, insufficient solder, misalignment, and contamination.
• Create and maintain MPIs, setup instructions, visual aids, and standard work.
• Review drawings, BOMs, engineering changes, and customer requirements for workstation implementation.
• Conduct controlled process trials and validation activities; document results and implement changes.
