Job summary

ASML US, LLC in San Diego is seeking a Senior Electronics Design Engineer - PCBA Design to design, develop, integrate, and qualify complex PCBA assemblies used in electronic control systems for advanced lithography equipment. You will define board architectures, develop schematics, select components, and support layout and thermal considerations.

The role requires bringing up boards, debugging, and root-cause analysis while collaborating with system architects, suppliers, and manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical/Computer Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of hardware development experience.
• Minimum 7 years designing complex active PCBAs for demanding applications.
• Experience with FPGA/processor/memory/high-speed interfaces.
• Experience with board-level architecture definition, schematic capture, and verification.
• Experience using SPICE-based simulations (LTspice).
• Experience with eye-pattern tools (iBert) for high-speed verification.
• Experience with board layout support and debugging.
• Proven track record in SoC power distribution, clocking and high-speed design.
• Experience with design reviews, DFMEA, and hardware qualification.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop complex active PCBAs for electronic control systems.
• Define board architectures for FPGA, processor, memory, and interfaces.
• Develop schematics and select components.
• Guide PCB layout decisions, signal integrity, power integrity, EMC, and thermal considerations.
• Perform board bring-up, debugging, and root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate with suppliers, contract manufacturers, and internal teams through design, prototype, qualification, and production phases.
• Contribute to hardware roadmaps and next-generation platform development.
• Mentor junior engineers on robust PCBA design practices.
