Job summary

Intuit is seeking a Senior Payroll Tax Processor to resolve payroll tax issues across notices, corrections, amendments, and pay & file. This role requires hands-on experience and independence in a high-volume workload, with mentoring responsibilities and opportunities to grow technical depth.

You will support diverse jurisdictions, prepare amended returns, and contribute to SOPs while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a flexible, remote-capable environment.

Qualifications

• 2–3+ years of hands-on payroll tax experience with focus on notice resolution, amended returns, and payroll error correction across multiple states.
• Working knowledge of IRS and state agency notice types; able to read a notice and determine the appropriate resolution.
• Experience resolving State and Federal payroll tax notices independently, including balance‑due notices and deposit mismatch notices.
• Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) required; CPP preferred for 4+ years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Execute full-cycle payroll tax case work for assigned accounts, including tax filings and payments and SLA-adherent timelines.
• Prepare amended payroll tax returns (e.g., Form 941-X) and respond with complete documentation to agencies.
• Research and resolve complex notices, maintaining documentation from intake to closure.
• Collaborate with Corrections, Amendments, Pay & File, and Tax Notice teams; mentor TP1 staff as needed.
• Maintain thorough case documentation and perform trend analysis to identify process improvements.
