Job summary

APi Inc. is seeking a Payroll Manager to own and optimize the end-to-end payroll cycle for all employees across mixed pay frequencies, with weekly processing burdens.

You will serve as the escalation point for corrections and compliance questions, coordinating with the Central COE on tax filings and policy standards. Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s in Finance or Accounting and 5+ years of progressive payroll experience, including union payroll and SOX controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive payroll experience, with ownership of a full payroll function.
• Direct experience with union payroll, including CBA rate structures, fringe remittance, and trust fund obligations.
• Working knowledge of SOX control environments and payroll’s role within them.
• Ability to manage and develop junior payroll staff.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end payroll cycle for all employees across mixed pay frequencies, with the bulk processed weekly.
• Perform substantive payroll review before each cycle, including exception reports and headcount variances.
• Approve off-cycle and correction runs; act as first decision point for payroll corrections.
• Review banking and direct deposit change reports prior to payroll runs; validate time data and coding.
• Manage and develop a team: Payroll Specialist–Processing and Payroll Specialist–Union & Fringe.
