Job summary

Vaco is seeking a Payroll Manager to join our South Bay team. You will manage end-to-end payroll for hourly and salaried staff, across multiple states, ensuring accuracy and on-time processing. This role requires strong knowledge of payroll laws and hands-on payroll experience.

The ideal candidate will have prior payroll leadership experience and be proficient with payroll systems and Excel, collaborating with HR, Accounting, and Finance on payroll matters.

Qualifications

• Hands-on payroll experience.
• Experience as Payroll Manager or senior-level payroll.
• Multi-state payroll experience.
• Knowledge of payroll laws and compliance.
• California payroll experience preferred.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with payroll systems and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing.
• Support hourly and salaried employee populations.
• Oversee multi-state payroll and payroll compliance.
• Review payroll taxes, deductions, benefits, and employee changes.
• Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time.
• Resolve payroll discrepancies and employee payroll questions.
• Maintain payroll processes, controls, and documentation.
• Partner with HR, Accounting, and Finance on payroll-related matters.
• Prepare payroll reports and support audits as needed.
