Job summary

Skil-Resource-Center in Parsons, KS, is seeking a Finance Admin Payroll Specialist to manage semi-monthly payroll and related accounting tasks within the Agency’s HR/payroll system and accounting software.

Responsibilities include processing payroll, maintaining financial records, submitting federal/state taxes and preparing W-2s, 1099s, and 941s, while ensuring accuracy, confidentiality and compliance.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of payroll experience.
• Experience with computer accounting or bookkeeping.
• Knowledge of various computer programs.
• Clear background checks.
• Confidentiality in performing job duties is imperative.

Responsibilities

• Process and validate semi-monthly payroll, ensuring accuracy with employee data, time files, benefits, deductions and wages.
• Maintain Agency’s computerized accounting program, adding and updating information as needed.
• Calculate, report and submit all Federal and State taxes through the electronic Tax Payment System.
• Compile, balance and file quarterly reports for Federal and State taxes.
• Prepare annual W-2, W-3 and 1099 forms for end of year reporting.
• Prepare and submit 941 reports.
• Prepare and process various reports for audits and management.
• Coordinate direct deposit transfer with management for appropriate banking facility.
• Submit payroll deductions such as insurance and court appointed withholdings from payroll to appropriate entities.
• Work collaboratively with the Fiscal Operations Specialist and Human Resources Dept. on resolving issues with payroll deductions regarding insurance coverages and benefits.
