Job summary

Fate Therapeutics, Inc. seeks a detail-oriented Senior Payroll Associate to own our end-to-end payroll process and ensure on-time, accurate payments for all employees. This role uses Dayforce and collaborates with HR and Finance to maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years of payroll experience, strong attention to detail, and confidentiality. This full-time, exempt position is based at our corporate headquarters in San Diego, CA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business or equivalent with 4+ years of payroll processing experience.
• CPP certification is preferred.
• Familiar with Federal and State payroll laws.
• Experience with large payroll systems, preferably Dayforce.
• Strong attention to detail and confidentiality.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Adobe PDF.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end payroll processing using Dayforce with accurate calculations.
• Handle bonuses, terminations, and one-off payroll runs.
• Process payroll changes including new hires, terminations, leaves, salary and benefit changes, equity, and timecards.
• Maintain employee data in Dayforce, Fidelity, and Concur Expense Reporting.
• Prepare payroll reports for auditing and compliance purposes.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws.
• Process stock equity earnings and related taxation.
