Job summary

Legend Biotech, a global biotechnology company, is seeking a Sr. Payroll Analyst to join the HR Operations team in Bridgewater, NJ. You will oversee the accurate, biweekly US payroll for exempt and non-exempt staff in Workday and partner with HR, Benefits, and Finance to ensure compliant payroll processing.

The role emphasizes day-to-day payroll processing, reconciliations, reporting, audits, and SOX control maintenance, with a focus on accuracy and timeliness in a complex environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 3–5 years U.S. payroll experience in a complex/global org.
• 3–5 years Hands-on Workday Payroll experience incl. Time & Absence.
• Strong understanding of payroll processing, reconciliations, taxes, deductions, and compliance.
• SOX controls and payroll audits experience.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Process U.S. biweekly payroll and related off-cycle payments (bonuses, RSU vesting, equity, benefits, deductions, garnishments).
• Review and process changes: hires, rehires, terminations, compensation changes, leaves.
• Run payroll calculations, review results, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies.
• Manage payroll-related Time and Absence in Workday (timecard exceptions, missing punches, overtime, shifts).
• Partner with managers, HRBPs, Benefits to resolve payroll issues.
• Manage payroll inbox and resolve inquiries within SLAs.
• Perform payroll reconciliations and prepare payroll, accounting, benefits, and headcount reports.
• Execute and maintain SOX controls and supporting documentation for payroll cycles.
• Support federal/state/local payroll tax requirements and year-end activities (W-2).
