Job summary

Adams Communication & Engineering Technology (ACET), Incorporated is seeking a seasoned Payroll/Accounting Specialist to lead project cost management, financial analysis, payroll processing, and Deltek Costpoint system administration for our government-focused programs.

You will serve as a strategic partner to program managers, providing actionable financial insights, variance analysis, and operational workflows to maintain tight cost control, streamline billing, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of project cost management, financial analysis, and accounting operations experience, preferably in federal government contracting.
• Experience with Deltek Costpoint system administration is required.
• Proven track record in aligning financial operations with DCAA and FAR regulations.
• Strong variance analysis, project setup, reconciliations, and end-to-end billing/collections workflows.
• Excellent cross-functional communication and ability to scale operations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end payroll processing with strict confidentiality and compliance.
• Handle wage garnishments, child support, and tax levies within legal limits.
• Manage VETS-4212 reporting and ACA compliance (1094-C/1095-C).
• Coordinate during labor and tax audits by IRS, DOL, and state agencies.
• Administer Deltek Costpoint and drive system optimization.
• Monitor multi-million-dollar project expenditures and perform variance analysis.
• Prepare financial reports and deliver insights to program managers.
• Streamline billing to ensure accurate invoicing and timely collections.
• Record payroll journal entries and reconcile GL with cash flows.
• Review and process expense reports and mileage reimbursements.
