Job summary

ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems in Monroe, NC is seeking a Senior Payroll and Benefits Specialist to manage certified payrolls, support weekly payroll processing for US/Canada, and ensure compliance with wage laws.

The role collaborates with HRIS, Accounting, and Operations, analyzes payroll data, drives process improvements, and maintains confidentiality while delivering reliable payroll and benefits administration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Human Resources or Business Administration.
• 4–7 years of experience in payroll and benefits management.
• Knowledge of certified and prevailing wage.
• Strong Excel skills and MS Office proficiency.
• Experience with multi-state and multi-provincial payroll.
• Experience with ADP Workforce Now or Payworks (or similar HCM).
• Knowledge of U.S./Canada payroll tax and employment legislation.
• Ability to handle confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit certified payroll reports and ensure accuracy and compliance with prevailing wage requirements. Assist with process improvement.
• Support the US/Canada payroll weekly/biweekly entry and reporting
• Audit payroll data regularly to ensure accuracy and integrity
• Ensure compliance with all wage and hour laws, tax regulations, union agreements, and company policies
• Crosstrain within the department to provide backup coverage
• Drive process improvements, automation, and vendor utilization to enhance efficiency
• Partner cross-functionally with HRIS, Accounting, and Operations to streamline data flows
• Provide customer service to employees regarding time and attendance, benefits and payroll questions
• Other general HR/PR functions as needed
