Job summary

Archipelago Companies in Irvine, CA is seeking a Senior Manager, Payroll and Benefits to oversee payroll operations, benefits programs, and compliance across multi-state employees. You will collaborate with HR, Finance, and external vendors to ensure accurate payroll processing and optimal benefit offerings.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years in payroll/benefits administration, strong knowledge of FLSA, ACA, COBRA and ERISA, and experience with ADP, Paychex, or BambooHR.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, human resources, business administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in payroll and benefits administration.
• Strong knowledge of payroll and benefits multi-state laws, including FLSA, ACA, COBRA, ERISA, and IRS regulations.
• Experience with payroll and HRIS systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, BambooHR, Full Circle).
• Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to manage confidential information.
• Professional Certifications such as: Certified Payroll Professional (CPP).

Responsibilities

• Oversee payroll processing and accuracy across multiple states.
• Manage benefits programs and enrollment processes.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Prepare and file payroll taxes and government reports.
• Lead audits and respond to auditors with documentation.
• Collaborate with HR, Finance, and external vendors for optimal operations.
