Job summary

ID.me is seeking a Senior Accountant to own accounting for our people costs, including payroll, bonuses, benefits, and severance. You will manage journal entries, accruals, variance analysis, and audit support.

You’ll partner with Finance, HR/People and FP&A, ensuring accurate headcount data, multi-state payroll, and ERP integration. This hands-on role offers growth in a fast-paced, pre-IPO environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred; CPA or progress toward CPA a plus.
• 5+ years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills; ability to automate workflows.
• Experience with ERP systems and US GAAP related to employee costs.
• Experience with self-insured benefits and multi-state payroll.

Responsibilities

• Record payroll, bonuses, taxes, and benefits; reconcile accruals.
• Own commission accounting cycle and ASC 340-40 costs.
• Manage severance, PTO accruals, and termination benefits.
• Reconcile HRIS, payroll, and GL data; analyze headcount variances.
• Assist with month-end close and ad-hoc analytics.
• Support external auditors on people-related costs.
