Job summary

ID.me, Inc. is seeking a Senior Accountant to own payroll, bonuses, commissions, benefits, insurance, and severance accounting from journal entries to audits. You’ll collaborate with Finance, HR/People, and FP&A and support day-to-day AP and T&E activities while driving process improvements.

This hands-on role requires strong analytical skills, high attention to detail, and experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) in a fast-growing, on-site environment at our McLean, VA office.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Hands-on ownership of payroll and compensation accounting.
• US GAAP knowledge related to employee costs.
• Experience with self-insured benefit plans a plus.
• Experience with multi-state payroll coordination.
• Familiarity with ERP integrations and NetSuite preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Payroll to record each payroll cycle and reconcile with the general ledger.
• Prepare and maintain accruals for bonuses, PTO, and other compensation.
• Own the commission accounting cycle and ASC 340-40 allocations.
• Account for severance and termination benefits, including accrual timing.
• Own benefits and insurance accounting including self-insured claims and HSA/FSA.
• Reconcile headcount and compensation data across HRIS, payroll, and GL.
• Support with vendor AP and T&E as needed.
• Conduct monthly bank reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Assist with SOX-ready internal controls over payroll and compensation.
