Job summary

CompoSecure is seeking a Senior Payroll Accountant to own full-cycle payroll in Workday for US and multi-state employees, while handling payroll accounting and close responsibilities. The role reports to the Controller and requires independence, integrity, and cross-functional collaboration with HR and Finance.

Candidate should bring 4+ years of payroll processing experience, Workday configuration knowledge, and solid GAAP accounting foundation.

Qualifications

• Must have 4+ years of hands-on payroll processing experience.
• Experience running full payroll cycles independently in Workday.

Responsibilities

• Run full payroll cycle in Workday for U.S. and multi-state/international employees.
• Enter and validate payroll inputs including hires, terminations, pay changes, bonuses, and off-cycle payments.
• Configure Workday earnings, deductions, and benefit deductions; support open enrollment.
• Manage garnishments, tax withholdings, imputed income, and other deductions.
• Audit inputs/outputs and resolve exceptions; run payroll reports and ad hoc requests.
• Prepare and post payroll-related journal entries and reconcile payroll GL accounts.
• Close: prepare/post non-payroll entries; balance sheet reconciliations; variance analysis.
• Support SOX controls, records retention, and audit documentation.
