Job summary

CompoSecure, a global leader in premium metal payment cards, seeks a Senior Payroll Accountant to own full-cycle payroll in Workday and manage related accounting tasks. You will report to the Controller and collaborate with Finance, HR, and other functions across the business.

The role emphasizes accuracy, GAAP compliance, and the ability to operate with minimal supervision while handling multi-state payroll, journal entries, accruals, and payroll reporting for US employees.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of hands-on payroll processing experience.
• Experience running payroll in Workday including configuration and reporting.
• Strong payroll accounting knowledge: journal entries and reconciliations.
• CPA/CPP/FPC or progression toward CPA preferred.
• Multi-state and/or international payroll experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Run the full payroll cycle in Workday for U.S. employees on a recurring schedule.
• Prepare and post payroll-related journal entries including accruals and employer taxes.
• Reconcile payroll GL accounts and tax filings; resolve discrepancies.
• Close activities beyond payroll; support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close.
• Support SOX controls and audit readiness for payroll and related processes.
