Job summary

Discovery-Senior-Living is seeking an Accounting Manager to own full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of senior living communities. You will lead a two-person offshore team, manage the close, and ensure GAAP-compliant reporting tied to building, residents, and owners.

You will start remote, then move to onsite in Dallas three days per week, with travel as needed. This role requires CPA-aligned expertise and strong leadership to scale the team as the portfolio grows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA preferred.
• Active CPA license a plus.
• 2+ years of public accounting experience a plus (audit/assurance).
• 1–2 years as Accounting Manager or equivalent with supervisory responsibility.
• 5+ years total progressive accounting experience.
• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and accrual accounting.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, large-data reconciliations).
• Ability to work onsite in Dallas five days per week.

Responsibilities

• Directly manage two offshore accounting staff, set priorities, and manage the close calendar.
• Coordinate between US leadership and offshore team; own output and narratives.
• Review offshore journal entries, reconciliations, schedules, and draft financials.
• Maintain SOPs, checklists, and close calendars for repeatable processes.
• Train the team on senior living accounting specifics and judgment.
• Own month-end close and preparation of financial statements and variance analysis.
• Oversee resident billing, census data, and revenue recognition; manage A/R and reserves.
• Partner with Operations on budgeting and monthly/quarterly reporting packages.
• Support audit, internal controls, and process improvements.
