Job summary

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career- and customer-oriented Senior Payroll Accountant to join our team in Herndon, VA. This on-site role requires at least 3 days a week in the office and focuses on accurate, timely payroll processing in a government contracting setting.

You will handle complex payroll tasks, ensure regulatory compliance, and manage garnishments, tax withholdings, and cross-state considerations with a strong emphasis on data integrity and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field; 5+ years payroll in government contracting.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary payroll contact; manage Service Now tickets and policy guidance.
• Oversee garnishment processes; coordinate with vendors and ensure compliance.
• Handle on-site payroll data, audits, tax reciprocity, and imputed income calculations.
• Validate employee lifecycle data; complete termination, address changes, and leave processing.
• Assist with labor distribution reconciliations, ADP invoices, and statutory filings.
• Develop payroll documentation and implement process improvements.
• Provide training and cross-functional support to junior staff.
